Katy & Ross

As a wedding photographer, we love love. It's what we do. We capture one of the most romantic days of peoples lives and document it for couples to reminisce over for a lifetime. But sometimes, it's easy for couples to get swept up in the worries about family members, who's doing what, who's with who and all of those other little niggles that have probably been on your mind in the run up to the wedding. But my best piece of advice? Be more Ross & Katy. These two really were just taking in EVERY sweet moment together and it was just so beautiful to watch.

It began with Katy and her bridesmaids getting ready in the butterfly suite at Brinsop Court (which can I just say, was beautiful enough to get married in in itself). Whilst hair and make up preparations were in full swing, Ross and their son were downstairs helping each other with ties, buttonholes and some small finishing touches.

The ceremony was held in the Elizabethan library and was a small, intimate ceremony, complete with personal vows that they wrote for one another. With the warm November sunshine beaming through (and probably the only sunshine we had in the month of November 2021), it was definitely one to remember.

As guests made their way downstairs for drinks and canapés, we headed off around the grounds to capture some portraits of the two newly weds. I always say to couples that portraits is your time for one another so embrace it, after all, this is your new husband/wife! Ross and Katy needed no direction, they just cuddled, snuggled and laughed. THAT is what it's all about. For family photos, Katy wanted more natural style images with her younger bridesmaids and son, so we took them away from the crowd and just captured them interacting. This is a really lovely way to capture some natural photos of your younger guests who aren't so keen on being in front of the camera!

There were so many personal touches at this wedding, from the hand-made paper bouquets to the memory table for lost loved ones. Every detail was thought of and was so unique to the couple. What a great day it was!
